The New York State JCI Senate
The New York State JCI Senate grew on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008 as a worthy Jaycee received
his Senatorship at the year-end awards and inauguration banquet of the New York State
Jaycees, held at the Embassy Suites, Syracuse, NY.
New York's newest JCI Senator, Scott Kingsley #67932, receives the
Lieutenant John A. Shaffer Memorial Senatorship from New York State

#59869 displays a plaque with the names of past Shaffer honorees.
Scott R. Kingsley was honored with the Lieutenant John A. Shaffer Memorial Senatorship,
which is given annually by the New York State Jaycees Foundation.  Kingsley is a member of the
Saratoga Springs Jaycees. He has served the New York State Jaycees in several capacities and
served as the organization's 74th President in 2004. He is a past National Vice President and
currently serves the U.S. Junior Chamber as a coach for Region and District Directors. The
Lieutenant John A. Shaffer Memorial Senatorship is regarded as the highest honor a New York
State Jaycee may receive.  
New York Senate Welcomes New Member
The next meeting of the New York State JCI Senate will take place on Friday, May 2 at 9 p.m. at
the Holiday Inn, Batavia, NY, as part of the New York State Jaycees Outstanding Young New
Yorker Convention. Download a

Senate Meeting Scheduled
MAI is Coming Up Fast!
The meeting of the Mid-Atlantic Institute (MAI) is nearly upon us.  Senators from up and down
the east coast and across the country will be traveling to Cooperstown, NY for a long weekend
of fun and Senate business on April 4-6.  We need New York JCI Senators to come out to enjoy
the event and to help out.  See the

Senate Meets in Syracuse
Members of the NYS JCI
Senate gathered for the
organization's quarterly
meeting on Friday, Jan. 11,
2008.

Most of the discussion at the
meeting centered on the
upcoming MAI conference, to
be hosted by the New York
Senate in Cooperstown.  
Senators also discussed the
U.S. JCI Senate Foundation
Scholarship program, Return
the Favor, the upcoming
national annual convention,
new Senate shirts and more.

Poughkeepsie and Whitestown
tied for the manpower award.
Poughkeepsie won the
man-mile award.

Chris Nunn Honored with Ambassadorship
Senator Christopher Nunn #60786 added to
his Jaycee honors on January 12, 2007, when
he was awarded the Frank Castellano
Memorial Ambassadorship at the year-end
banquet of the New York State Jaycees.

Outgoing Jaycee President Andrea Ciravolo
#67048 and Chairman of the Board Patrick
Wallen presented the honor to Nunn for his
longstanding and ongoing service to the New
York State Jaycees.

In addition to being a U.S. Jaycee Ambassador
and a JCI Senator, Chris Nunn has been
honored as a New York Jaycee Governor.  

The Castellano Ambassadorship is presented
annually at the year-end convention.
